Full flavored, rich aromatic flavor makes this one of the best known and most sought-after varieties. A true garlic lover’s delight. One of the hardiest garlics, it is easy to grow in most climates with some indication of disease tolerance and is a go-to for many first-time growers. Easy to peel, Music Garlic will keep until early spring if stored properly. Named after Canadian grower Al Music, who reputedly brought this variety from Italy in the 1980’s. Harvest fall planted garlic the following season, late spring or early summer, about 240 days from planting. Harvest spring planted garlic the same season, about 90 days from planting. Averages 4- 6 cloves per bulb. Hard neck variety.
Montana Giant
Montana Giant has a unique, robust earthy flavor with garlic that peaks with a high heat intensity but mellows quickly. This hard neck Rocambole type has easy to peel cloves that are large and excellent for cooking. Harvest fall planted garlic the following season, late spring or early summer, about 240 days from planting. Harvest spring planted garlic the same season, about 90 days from planting. Averages 5-7 cloves per bulb. Hard neck variety.
Russian Red
This full-flavored garlic was brought to the Pacific Northwest by Russian immigrants in the early 1900’s. Rocambole garlics have purple bulb wrappers and easy-to-peel brownish clove covers. Coming from Russia this garlic is sure to grow in gardens with the coldest of winters and will survive damp winter soils as well. Averages 6-7 cloves per bulb. Early to mid-season, rocambole hard neck. Approximately 45-60 cloves per pound
Elephant Garlic

Elephant garlic is certified and the largest “garlic” you can get! This variety of “garlic” looks like garlic and tastes like a mild hard neck type, but it is actually a type of leek. Just like its name, Elephant is large with 1 1/2″ cloves that have a great mild garlic-like flavor. Plant in fall for late spring harvest 240 days. Elephant loves cool growing weather so it’s ideal for cooler growing zones. Elephant’s bulbs can easily weigh a pound or more! This variety is very easy to peel and keeps very well. Each bulb averages 3-5 cloves. Approximately 9-14 garlic cloves per pound. Hard neck garlic.
Chesnok Red
Chesnok Red garlic is one of the best baking garlics available! This variety is a fantastic garlic that holds its shape and flavor well when cooked. This variety grows best where winters are cold, spring is damp and cool, and summer is dry and warm. Harvest fall-planted garlic the following season in late spring or early summer, about 240 days from planting. Harvest spring planted garlic the same season, about 90 days from planting. This variety produces a deliciously tender and mild garlic scape, and its cloves offer a robust and medium heat pungency. It stores well. Chesnok Red is regarded by some as the best all-around garlic variety as it has a very beautiful red color.
Susan Delafield
The Susan Delafield is a dazzling hard neck Porcelain variety that produces delicious and attractive purplish-pink cloves. This garlic has a delicious spicy flavor and will store well for 8 to 9 months. This variety is perfect for northern climates and is acclimated to moist conditions. The Susan Delafield averages 4-6 cloves per bulb.
